During his presidency, Charles de Gaulle sought to keep France separate from the two superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union. De Gaulle wrote the military book, 'Vers l'armée de métier,' which was largely ignored by French military officials, but not by the Germans in World War II.
Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 is one of two railway stations at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, France. The station opened on 30 May 1976 and is on the Roissy railway line.
